About this spelling worksheet generator
Paste your week's spelling list and choose the activities you want on the page: write each word three times, unscramble the letters, fill in the missing letters, or find the words in a word search. The sheet comes out ready to print with name and date lines.
The word search places each word across, down or diagonally, forward only, and fills the rest with random letters. Words that cannot fit are listed so you can shorten the list.
All of it happens in your browser. The list you paste is not saved or sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Paste your spelling words, one per line.
- Tick the activities you want.
- Choose the size of the word search grid.
- Press Make worksheet.
- Print the sheet and the answer key.
Classroom tips
- Keep lists to ten to fifteen words so the word search stays solvable.
- Use the scramble activity as a warm-up and the missing-letters activity as a check.
- Make a fresh sheet each time; the letters change, the words do not.
- Mix words from a pattern, such as long a spelled ai, ay and a_e, so students sort as they spell.
