About these hispanic heritage month printables handouts

National Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15, a span that crosses two months and sits early in the school year. This set gives you three plain pages for it: a certificate, a title-page frame and a reading log. The borders are made of simple diamonds and rings, with no flags, portraits or symbols that might be unwelcome.

The pages are in English and carry no Spanish text or biographical content, because that material needs a qualified reviewer before it goes on a page. That leaves you free to add your own words, whether that is a student's family story, a book title or a research topic. The reading log has 16 rows, the certificate has open lines, and the title-page frame has a large blank panel.

These frames are blank on purpose. Heritage content needs careful sourcing, and the site is arranging a community review of this set before any text is added. A plain border lets you add what fits your lesson: a book list, a research title, a student's own writing, or an award for effort. If you want students to look something up, point them to library books and primary sources rather than the printable itself.

Type your own title, names and dates into the fill-in boxes before you print. The certificate and reading log carry no logo or web address, so a student can keep them; the title-page frame keeps a small footer.

How to use them

  1. Pick the file you need: certificate, title-page frame or reading log.
  2. Open the fill-in boxes and type the title, names, teacher and dates.
  3. Choose a class style, or black and white to save ink.
  4. Print on letter paper, and use cardstock for the certificate.
  5. Add your own content on the blank areas, drawn from sources you trust.

Classroom tips

  • Start the reading log on September 15 and collect it on October 15 so it matches the observance dates.
  • Use the title-page frame for a family heritage project and let students choose the title and the drawing for the panel.
  • Add the certificate wording yourself, such as Reading Challenge Finisher, so the award fits your class activity.

Notes on this page

  • Frames are blank by design: no biographical text or flags are printed. National Hispanic Heritage Month runs September 15 to October 15.

Frequently asked questions

When is Hispanic Heritage Month?

National Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15 each year in the United States. The dates are printed on the title-page frame and cited in the sources on this page.

Why is there no Spanish text on the pages?

Spanish wording should be checked by a qualified reviewer before it is printed, and review of this set is in progress. The boxes are open, so you can type your own words.

Are the designs based on a country or a flag?

No. The borders use plain diamonds and rings only. We left out flags and national symbols on purpose so the set suits students of every background.
