About these winter printables handouts
Winter in the classroom runs from the first cold morning to the long stretch after break, and the pages here are meant to cover all of it. The set is built on a six-armed snowflake and a simple eight-point burst, drawn with plain lines so they look crisp even on a school copier.
The designs avoid any single holiday on purpose. A snowflake belongs to the season, not to a particular celebration, so the pages are safe to use in December, January and February in any school. Use the reading log for a winter reading club, and the reward chart for a warm-up goal such as ten books before the end of the month.
The set has six files with one design: a reading log, a certificate, a blank calendar page, a page of ten bookmarks, a border page with writing lines, and a reward chart with 30 spots. Type your own names and dates into the fill-in boxes before you print. The reading logs, certificates, bookmark sheets and reward charts carry no logo or web address, because they go home with students; the calendar and border page keep a small footer.
How to use them
- Pick the file you need from the version picker: reading log, certificate, calendar, bookmarks, border page or reward chart.
- Open the fill-in boxes and type the title, names, teacher and dates. What you type is what prints.
- Choose a class style. The bright styles are cheerful on screen, and black and white saves ink.
- Print on letter paper. Use cardstock for the bookmarks and reward chart so they last.
- Cut the bookmarks apart along the dashed lines, and punch the small circle if you want to add yarn.
Classroom tips
- Start a winter reading club in January, when the break routine has faded, and hand out the reading log as the sign-up sheet.
- Print the border page on light blue paper for a calm look, then use it for snow-day writing or winter poems.
- Use the certificate for finishing a reading goal, then send it home in the folder instead of posting it, so every child gets one.
Notes on this page
- Calendar pages have no printed dates: type the month and year, then write the dates in by hand.

Frequently asked questions
Is the winter set about Christmas or another holiday?
No. The designs use snowflakes and bursts only, and the text is general seasonal wording. That keeps the set suitable for any classroom, December or otherwise.
Which style prints best for winter?
The default and black and white styles print cleanly on any printer. The chalkboard style looks good on screen but uses a lot of ink, so save it for display copies.
Do the student pages carry the site logo?
No. The reading log, certificate, bookmarks and reward chart print with no logo or web address, so they are clean for a student to keep. The calendar and border page keep a small footer.
