About these fall printables handouts

Fall is the season when routines settle and cozy reading starts to feel possible. This set uses a simple maple leaf and a rounded pumpkin as its two shapes, repeated along borders and corners. They are drawn in your chosen class style, so a warm palette gives you the usual harvest look and a black and white style gives you a clean copy for ink-saving days.

Use the reading log for a fall reading challenge that runs from the first leaf to the last. The calendar works for October and November alike, and you can write in conferences, early dismissals and fall break. The border page is blank inside with a writing area, which suits a class poem or a how-to piece about raking leaves.

The set has six files with one design: a reading log, a certificate, a blank calendar page, a page of ten bookmarks, a border page with writing lines, and a reward chart with 30 spots. Type your own names and dates into the fill-in boxes before you print. The reading logs, certificates, bookmark sheets and reward charts carry no logo or web address, because they go home with students; the calendar and border page keep a small footer.

How to use them

  1. Pick the file you need from the version picker: reading log, certificate, calendar, bookmarks, border page or reward chart.
  2. Open the fill-in boxes and type the title, names, teacher and dates. What you type is what prints.
  3. Choose a class style. The bright styles are cheerful on screen, and black and white saves ink.
  4. Print on letter paper. Use cardstock for the bookmarks and reward chart so they last.
  5. Cut the bookmarks apart along the dashed lines, and punch the small circle if you want to add yarn.

Classroom tips

  • Run a leaf challenge: every finished book earns one stamp on the reward chart, and a full chart means reading outside for ten minutes.
  • Fold a calendar page in half and clip it to a bulletin board as a simple countdown to a class event.
  • Cut the bookmarks out in a group and let students color the leaf and pumpkin in whichever colors they find on a walk.

Notes on this page

  • Calendar pages have no printed dates: type the month and year, then write the dates in by hand.

Frequently asked questions

Are the fall pages tied to a holiday?

No. The leaf and pumpkin shapes are seasonal, not religious or tied to any single holiday, so the set works in any classroom from September through November.

Do the bookmarks have a hole for yarn?

Each bookmark has a small circle near the top that marks where to punch a hole. You can skip it for a plain bookmark, or punch it and add yarn or ribbon.

Do the student pages carry the site logo?

No. The reading log, certificate, bookmarks and reward chart print with no logo or web address, so they are clean for a student to keep. The calendar and border page keep a small footer.
